Golde, a German automotive product company, begins operation in the early 1920’s.
Mr. Meiss joins the company in 1951.
In 1958, Golde and English firm Weathershield, jointly develop the all steel sunroof.
In the early 60’s, Mr. Meiss helps Golde develop the electric sunroof at the Frankfurt Plant.
His involvement extends to selling this innovative product to all the European automobile manufacturers.
In 1968 Detroit automakers become interested in the Golde sunroof.
The Golde Company sends Mr. Meiss to Detroit to set up a U.S. Franchise for Golde and to teach assemblers at U.S. auto plants how to install the sunroof.
In the early 1970’s, Golde sells to Rockwell.
The practice of installing imported German sunroof kits continues until 1970 when American Sunroof begins operations as the first U.S. manufacturer of sunroofs.
Mr. Meiss joins this new firm during its inception.
In 1972, Mr. Meiss openes the southwest franchise in Dallas, Texas where he remained at the same location on Irving Blvd. For 23 years, where it is today.
Moe Creates Sounds Etc. in 1990 to serve Dallas /FT WORTH for auto trim and restyling center, as well as sales and service of mobile electronics for all domestic and foreign cars.
In 1999 Mr. Meiss retired and sold to Moe Pourahamadi, the President of Sounds Etc Inc.
